Japanese Pink (Original sold, prints only available)

This is a very oriental style mixed media painting because of the dominating black lacquer effect. The black gloss background is contrasted with matt painted botanical forest plants. The subject is a beautiful girl poised looking away from the scene. There are a series of leaf shapes that add depth to the foreground and there are stencilled spray forms from Japanese acer leaves that are dominant near the centre. The pink painted female form appears vividly painted because of the deep background contrast.
