ARTS BAR INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY SUPPORTING REFUGEE WOMEN CONNECT

I am just so excited to be supporting this wonderful group who offer such a valuable service to women and men affected by terribly difficult circumstances. I have curated an exhibition of conceptual art to support them. My exhibition is as a result of some research into coercive behaviours and experiences affecting individuals who have suffered domestic violence. I have been able to make these links and it explores themes such as ‘gas lighting’ and physical abuse and parental alienation in particular during coercive control. By likening these themes to some typical behavioural traits and known characteristics of individual animals I hope to highlight possible triggers to enable individuals to recognise potentially harmful behaviours and allow earlier intervention.
